Telegram notifications from RolePark

RolePark has a Telegram bot that tells your team about new applications and interviews. Each person links their own Telegram account and chooses which events go to Telegram and which stay in email.

In short

  • New applications for your vacancies, interviews that are scheduled, rescheduled or cancelled, and a weekly digest for company administrators who choose Telegram for it.
  • Messages contain a title, one line and a link to RolePark — no candidate names, contacts or meeting links.
  • Linking takes a link that is valid for 10 minutes and a confirmation in RolePark; /stop disconnects at any time.
  • Available on every plan, Free included.

How to link Telegram

Notifications are switched on only after this confirmation. One Telegram account links to one RolePark account, and the bot works only in private chats, not in groups.

To disconnect, select Disconnect in settings or send /stop to the bot. If you block the bot, RolePark turns the connection off by itself.

  1. In RolePark, open Settings → Personal and select Connect Telegram.
  2. Open the bot from the link and press Start. The link is valid for 10 minutes.
  3. Return to RolePark, refresh the status and confirm that this is your Telegram account.

Which events come to Telegram

For each event you choose email, Telegram or both in your notification settings. Until the bot is linked, everything goes to email; if you unlink it later, those events return to email.

New applications

The recruiter who owns the vacancy, or the hiring manager assigned to it, gets a message when a candidate applies. The link opens the vacancy inbox.

Interviews

Interviewers and the vacancy’s recruiter get a message when an upcoming interview is scheduled, rescheduled, cancelled or deleted, or when its call link changes. The link opens the interview in RolePark, where the current time is shown; for a cancelled interview, it opens your interview list.

When interviewers are added to an interview that is already scheduled, only the newly added interviewers get a message; the rest of the team is not notified again.

This works the same whether or not the organiser has connected Google Calendar. With Google Calendar connected, Google also emails the invitation and its updates to the guests — the candidate and the interviewers; Telegram messages to the team are sent either way.

Weekly digest

Company administrators receive a weekly digest: new applications, new candidates, completed interviews, offers, hires and applications waiting longer than two weeks. It contains numbers only. By default it goes by email; in Telegram it arrives only if you choose Telegram for it.

What a message contains

  • The word RolePark, a short title, one line of text and a link to the right page.
  • No candidate names, email addresses, phone numbers, notes, rejection reasons or meeting links: you see the details after signing in to RolePark.
  • The connection code in the link is stored only as a hash, and Telegram requests to RolePark are checked with a secret token.

Bot commands

The bot answers in English or Ukrainian, in the RolePark interface language you used when linking it; other interface languages get English. It does not process free text: you cannot reply to a candidate or leave a comment from Telegram.

  • /start — welcome and connection status; /help — how to connect; /stop — disconnect.
  • /me — your own employee record: position, department, manager and start date.
  • /leave — your time-off balance and a new leave request, if your company uses the time-off module.
  • /approve — the approvals waiting for your decision; offer approvals are decided in the app only.

Telegram and candidates

  • A public vacancy has a Share button with Telegram. Applications that come through it are marked with the source “Shared · Telegram”.
  • A candidate card can store the candidate’s Telegram username. “Message on Telegram” opens a chat in your own Telegram; RolePark does not send these messages and does not see them.
  • Candidates can link the bot in their portal, but application status messages in Telegram are paused for now, like automatic emails. Candidates see status changes in their portal.

Frequently asked questions
